About Brandywine Health Foundation
Our Mission is to advance a more equitable, resilient and healthy Greater Coatesville community. A thriving, inclusive and healthy community for all!
Our Mission
The Brandywine Health Foundation’s mission is to initiate and support programs to improve and sustain the health and well-being of our community. The Brandywine Health Foundation pursues its mission through funding and running programs and services to improve the health and development of children, teens, and families in the Coatesville Area School District.
Our Vision
A thriving, inclusive and healthy community for all.
Our History
How We Got Started
The Brandywine Health Foundation is gearing up in 2021 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Formed in 2001 as a Health Conversation Foundation, from the proceeds and sale of the Brandywine Hospital, the Foundation is a placed-based 501(c)3 philanthropic organization that centers equity in all of its work. Our geographic area includes the Greater Coatesville community made up of the nine townships and municipalities within the Coatesville Areas School District.
Where We Are Now
We have been successful in removing access to care and services barriers, through health equity and healthy youth and community initiatives and making investments in post high school education through nursing & college scholarships. After providing these much-needed grants, programs, services and scholarships, the Greater Coatesville community still struggles disproportionately, in comparison to Chester County as a whole, with health and economic disparities. Thus, the foundation is taking a more holistic approach to health, recognizing that health starts in the home and all of the opportunities available in the community.
