This year’s annual Garden Party “Spring Fiesta at Springbank Farm” celebrated the Brandywine Health Foundation’s 15th Anniversary with mariachi music and fireworks and 540 guests in attendance at the home of longtime supporters Bob and Jennifer McNeil.
The dedicated volunteer committee led by Kathleen Deets-Price of Downingtown, once again created a fresh and fabulous event that keeps guests coming back every year. The “Battle of the Berries” sponsored by Univest, which featured six Chester County restaurants each creating a one-of a kind dessert for competition that night, is a highlight of the event. This year the participating restaurants included Duling-Kurtz House and Country Inn, the Gables at Chadds Ford, General Warren, The Restaurants at the Desmond, and Amani’s BYOB whose dessert won the “People’s Choice Award. Newcomer to the event, ZING Sushi, took home the Culinary Excellence Award voted by a celebrity panel of judges including former White House Chef, John Moeller.
This year’s Garden Party netted more than $90,000. These funds were invested in organizations that help our neighbors in Coatesville live healthier lives, inspire our young people through programs like the Coatesville Area Youth Philanthropy Program, and create a safe, vibrant community with projects like the “Greening Coatesville” Initiative.
A huge thank you goes out to our 250 generous sponsors who made this evening possible, including Bob & Jennifer McNeil, Brumbaugh Wealth Management, Di and Dallas Krapf, QVC, and Univest.
