The Brandywine Health Foundation’s board of directors created the Harry Lewis Jr. Scholarship in 2011, in honor of Harry Lewis, Jr, the foundation’s board chairman from 2011-2013.

Every year, one high school senior in the Coatesville Area School District is selected to receive $20,000 for four years of her/his college tuition and fees. S/he must be actively involved in the Coatesville Youth Initiative, demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality of life in the greater Coatesville community, and achieve a certain grade point average in high school.

We are proud to give young people the opportunity to receive this life changing scholarship to support their dream of post-secondary education and we are proud that this meaningful scholarship exists because of those of you who have made an ongoing commitment to the foundation and Coatesville’s youth.

  • In February of 2012, more than 250 area residents attended theHarry Lewis Jr. Scholarship fundraising event, with guest speaker Coatesville native Diana Robinson Lewis, Harry’s sister-in-law, who recently retired as a Detroit TV news anchor. This unique event netted more than $15,000 to fund the first foundation scholarship.
  • Two years later, hundreds of donors generously helped to endow this scholarship through the Campaign for Coatesville’s Kids.  Your commitment to our youth is enormously impactful and greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU!
